2 days of ideation:
For our ideation process we chose to work with the Crazy Eight method. This ideation method is proven very effective when you quickly want to generate a lot of ideas in a short amount of time. The focus of the session is on quantity of ideas not quality, which worked perfectly for us in this very first step of our creative process since we wanted to collect as many ideas as possible to get us started. We chose to work on Miro since it's an amazing tool for online collaboration. Setting the timer to 8 minutes, we started by each ideating 8 ideas.
After the initial eight minutes, we presented our ideas to each other and started discussing/voting for our favourite ideas. This generated some converging ideas , that we then narrowed down to our three favourites.
After a lot of interesting discussion and brainstorming around these three ideas we settled on the one we felt most passionate about, which was the first one. Focusing on highlighting the powerful stories of refugees, in line with questions on power and immigration. The Crazy eight method worked very well for us as it allowed for a lot of ideas to take place and us collectively working together to develop something we could all feel passionate and interested in.
